Just a quick update
As some might have noticed, I added two new sections to the site: ‘Gaming Stats‘ and ‘Kindle Clippings List‘. Some might be wondering what the use of those two static pages is. Well, that’s quite simple.
Let’s break it down.
First off is the Gaming Stats page. I decided it was a method for people to see both the RetroAchievements I have along with PS3 and XBOX 360 [have to finish the XBOX parser] achievements, as some people were confused about how my RetroAchievements score was lower than what was on the LOKZ NET blog.
Well, the reason was I wrote a custom sneaker-net parsing tool to take achievements from offline consoles. I mostly did it so I can try and understand my play-style, and it also comes in handy for the ‘GameTime’ blog series I am working on.
Now onto the ‘Kindle Clippings List’ link you might also be seeing on the sidebar if you are reading this article directly on site rather than via fediverse or some RSS reader.
My ‘Kindle Clippings List’ page was created because after a few months away, I recently got back into using a modded Kindle running some custom de-amazoned firmware, allowing me to read what I want but also keep the Kindle clippings format I loved from before.
Now the clippings page will only ever show the clippings; it won’t have the audiobooks I listen to as that is tracked elsewhere on a different system, so I will have to work something out on that part.
But for now, I wanted to have some way to give my readers an idea of where my ideas are coming from. In my blog post ‘My E-Sports Calendar‘ I even referenced two books I was going through:
‘Time Management for System Administrators’ by Thomas A. Limoncelli, a Kindle e-book, alongside ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ by Stephen R. Covey, which was an audiobook I was listening to.
I would love to hear via either Mastodon, Matrix or the comment section if there are any other sections on my site that might prove useful, as I have a couple of things coming down the pipeline
